Kelly’s Revenge Cabernet Sauvignon 2003 looks like a fun wine, with a near stick-figure on its label and its somewhat unorthodox name. In fact, this cab IS a fun wine. Its aroma is cherry and raspberry, and the flavor is a jammy mix of red fruit. Don’t expect a lot of complexity here – think fruit, and more fruit. Despite its simplicity, for a six buck investment, Kelly’s Revenge provides plenty of flavor.
The San Francisco Chronicle called this cab a “best deal”.
If you think this wine is a steal, you might be on the right track. According to the maker, ““The Kelly’s Revenge name evokes Australia’s notorious 19 th-century outlaw Ned Kelly, who was legendary in his day… After a hard day’s work, a glass of Kelly’s Revenge helps consumers regain their sense of independence and perspective and remember that living well is the best revenge.”
